Marlena and Maurice, “Moe,” first connected in Miami back in 2013 as friends, and over time, their friendship blossomed into romance. After their engagement in August 2023 while traveling in Japan, they married on September 1, 2024 in a luxurious ceremony at The Tampa EDITION. They used several areas throughout the hotel like the Punch Room, the ballroom, and the Arts Club, dancing underneath its disco ball ceiling and creating a unique ambience and guest experience.
According to BRIDES Magazine, Marlena’s advice to couples planning their weddings is “asking for help when you need it and focusing on the most important elements to you as a couple. ‘Do exactly what will bring you joy and romance on your most special day, not whatever you think you’re ‘supposed’ to.’” Alongside their planner, Oh My Occasions, they did EXACTLY that. Marlena and Maurice brought in several personal touches such as using scents from their home in each room, engraving their monogram onto different aspects of their decor, and asking the guests to all wear black in honor of Marlena’s grandmother. These small details showed so much intention and love for those celebrating with them!
Our Bride
Our bride was absolutely glowing on her big day! Her vibrant, bold purple and green color scheme truly popped; however, she sparkled! Marlena chose a classic, timeless style, with details that brought a modern feminine vibe to her entire look. For hair, we highlighted her natural curls in a sleek half-up, half-down look that seamlessly translated across both her ceremony and reception looks. For her glam, we created a more matte look, with a natural, bronzey base, a terracotta, mauvey lip for a pop of color, and a neutral smokey eye to add a touch of drama to her glam! Now onto her ceremony look details:
A strapless Danielle Frankel ball gown with a tulle overskirt draping over a shorter underskirt, paired with a structured corset bodice from Loho Bride
Platform Saint Laurent heels
A lace‑trimmed veil from Paris - a memento from her bachelorette trip!
A bracelet once owned by her grandmother for “something borrowed.”
For the reception, Marlena changed into her second look: a strapless corset embroidered with carnations over a satin‑and‑tulle mini skirt adorned with bows. She added an oversized hair bow and vintage Chanel mini‑purse cuff bracelet for accessories to complete her look! Both her ceremony and reception looks exuded grace class with flirty, feminine details that matched the entire vibe of her wedding day!
